I wore this amazing 82 carat Watermelon Tourmaline necklace today and SO many people commented wherever I went. One lady at Marni was convinced that it was a Brazilian stone. Well, who am I to argue? It’s a one-of-a-kind piece and available from our Brooklyn store.

I guess I’ll never be sick of skulls, especially when they come in this rainbow of colors. By good ol’ Brooklyn boy Matthew Day Jackson.

My Madeleine

I’m no Proust but this box opens up a lot of pleasurable childhood memories for me. My mom kept it on her dresser forever. I’ve always thought it was beautiful but I kind of took it for granted. I only recently picked it up again and really studied it and saw how exquisite the tiny brushstrokes are and how beautifully detailed it is. It depicts a scene from a fairy tale. I grew up devouring fairy tales with gorgeous illustrations and drawings. The scene transports me back to being a child in the forest at my grandfather’s dacha. It all feels like a heady dream. It’s amazing what an object can do.

The owner of this house painted his front door five times before he got the colour right. I know EXACTLY where he’s coming from.

Looking for something to shoot my Endless Love rings on for a lookbook, I spotted this old Palekh lacquer box on my dresser. The box deserves its own post. Later?

Couple of things: 1. This dress is just too divine for words. 2. One of these days I have to make that swan ring I’ve been thinking about for the last two years.
